Personal website: Fractal Art Quilts (www.roserushbrooke.com)
Rose Rushbrooke creates Fractal Art Quilts. What are fractals? Simply put they are mathematically generated patterns repeated at every scale.
Is it necessary to understand the mathematical element of fractals to create images? Of course not. The software to generate fractal pictures is available to anyone who wants to download it onto their computer. The images produced are similar to psychedelic art and can be interpreted in the same way as one would ink blots or clouds. Rose uses this initial fractal design to create her art quilts.
Each piece represents a journal entry into Rose's book of life. Whether it be about her physical situation, or a reaction to an event - it is a simple personal view and can be related to as the everyday human experience.
